Riders Club
Natalie has officially joined the Riders Club. She fell off Gypsy on Friday night. She lost her balance and rode sideways a few strides and then boom off she came. Nat got back up and mounted Gypsy and starting trotting again. I'm relieved that's finally over, now I hope she realizes Yes, she will fall, and No she won't die.

Serpentine
Natalie learned to serpentine through trotting poles. This is a difficult thing to do when you are a beginner because you have to STEER your horse. It was rough the first few times of this exercise, but we finally got the maneuver down.
Also, just noticed this cute thing Gypsy does. We always call Gypsy grumpy because she's always putting her ears back when you brush her, tack her, girth her etc. Well Natalie was putting the girth on her last night and Gypsy was doing the normal "complaining" but what I hadn't realized before is she will put her ears back, but when Natalie walks out of the stall, she will put them forward again looking for her. As if to say, "I was just kidding, where did you go?" Gotta love that Mare.....
A horse can lend its rider the speed and strength he or she lacks - but the rider who is wise remembers it is no more then a loan.

The Journey Begins
About 18 months ago, Natalie started to have some struggles in School. She was in second grade, and could not seem to do anything right for her teacher. Everyday became torture for her and her sadness grew more disturbing everyday. I wasn't sure what or how to get her through until summer.... Until we met Ghalli. Riding the Sunshine....
The Horse
Horses change lives. They give our young people confidence and self-esteem. They provide peace and tranquility to troubled souls. They give us hope!
